About This Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to focus their efforts on developing their expertise and emerging research profile in their discipline. You will contribute to service and engagement roles and activities across the various Reef Catchment Science Partnership projects.

The Reef Catchments Science Partnership is a collaboration between the University of Queensland and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science. The Partnership focusses on conducting research that will provide scientifically robust and defensible science tools, systems and frameworks to enhance the Queensland Government's environmental compliance capabilities associated with the Reef Protection Regulations and improving the health and resilience of the Great Barrier Reef.

The Reef Catchments Science Partnership projects include:

Proactive Monitoring and Compliance.

Point and Diffuse Sources Compliance for Nutrients and Sediments.

Reef Catchments Science Innovation.

About You

Completion or near completion of a PhD or at least five years of relevant industry experience in one or more of the following discipline areas: GIS and remote sensing, environment science, water quality, web and API - development, agricultural or terrestrial ecology field experience, environmental assessment, landscape ecology and programming experience (e.g., Python and R).

Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals or industry reports and presenting at conferences.

Evidence of contributions towards successfully obtaining external research or consulting funding.

Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities and stakeholders, including government departments.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to 28 February 2024 at Academic Level A.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $72,144.35 to $96,530.67 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $84,408.89 to $112,940.88 per annum.
