We seek a talented and ambitious postdoctoral researcher for the ERC starting grant project “Design and Applications of Unconventional Borylation Reactions” (PI: Dr. Mariola Tortosa). The project is aimed at developing new methods for the synthesis of boronic acid derivatives combining metal-catalyzed, organocatalyzed and radical/photochemical reactions. Applications toward the synthesis of biological active compounds will be also involved. The applicant must hold or obtain a PhD degree in organic chemistry prior to beginning this position. Experience with handling air and moisture sensitive compounds and knowledge in catalysis and/or radical chemistry will be an added value. Good communication skills in English are required. The project will be developed in the Organic Chemistry Department at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). Starting date: Spring 2013 (Flexible) Expected duration: 2 years
