A postdoctoral position for a molecular biologist is available in the Computational Epigenomics group at the Center for Genomic Science of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Milan, Italy (https://www.iit.it/centers/cgs-semm).

This group adopts an interdisciplinary approach based on cutting edge computational and experimental methods to investigate fundamental mechanisms in the epigenetic control of transcriptional regulation. In particular, we study the functional role of the rates of mRNA synthesis, processing and degradation (mRNA dynamics), and their (epi-)genomic determinants.

Starting from robust preliminary data, the selected candidate will lead projects to characterize:

(i) the interplay between chromatin regulation and the m6A epitranscriptome

(ii) the role of this cross-talk for the establishment of mRNA dynamics.

She/he will interact extensively with computational scientists within the group, and will take advantage of a broad network of collaborators (European Epitranscriptomic Network EPITRAN).

Experience with cell cultures, RNA/chromatin biology and high-throughput sequencing based approaches is requested. Interest and skills in bioinformatics are a plus.
