The laboratory of Dr. Weizhou Zhang is seeking several highly-motivated scientists to fill an NIH-funded postdoctoral position. The postdoctoral scholar will study, but not limit to (1) the role of innate immune cells, mainly macrophages and neutrophils, tailoring anti-metastatic immunity by promoting anti-tumor T cell response; (2) the signaling transduction in regulatory T cells that may dampen anti-tumor T cell response; (3) treatment model for breast-cancer metastasis to stop colonization in the lung; and 4) bioinformatics related to big data analysis including TCGA, single cell RNAseq, multi omics integration during cancer progression and metastasis. If the candidate has reasonable proposal to do research in a different but relevant field, we encourage the candidate to do so for his/her own career development.

　　The candidate will benefit from a highly collaborative and diverse environment at the University of Florida. This project will be very collaborative in nature, involving knowledge from cancer biology, immunology and/or bioinformatics. The lab has strong background in cancer, inflammation and immunotherapy. The candidate will be able to achieve help from the strong immunology and cancer programs that the PI is affiliated with. Applicant must be a Ph.D. candidate or recent Ph.D. graduate (within the past 3 years) in immunology (particular in innate immunity) or with strong background in cancer biology. The candidate should have experience in tissue culture, cellular immunity, flow cytometry, immunoblotting, bioinformatics etc. The successful candidate must have outstanding achievements in their doctoral research and possess independent research abilities and ambitious scientific goals. 　　Qualifications

　　A PhD in biomedical science and a passion for basic science research are required.

　　Highly skilled in immunology, cancer biology and/or bioinformatics, as well as the competency in scientific writing. Successful candidates will perform experiments, collect and analyze data, manage projects, train and supervise students, publish papers, and assist with preparation and submission of grants. Track record of peer reviewed publications in relevant field is required.
