Context of the Job:

The Center for the Study and Prevention of Gender Based Violence at the University of Delaware is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow for the 2022-2023 academic year. Recent Ph.D.'s in the humanities or social sciences whose research focuses on gender-based violence with an intersectional perspective are eligible. As an interdisciplinary Center, we encourage scholars with a strong interest in interdisciplinary methods to apply. While in residence at the Center, postdoctoral fellows will assist investigators on existing projects, including evaluation research, contribute to the preparation of grant applications and training initiatives, and support a wide range of Center activities throughout the academic year. The appointment is for one year. Applicants must have their doctoral degree in hand no later than 30 days prior to the appointment start date, and the start date must be no more than three years after the awarding of their degree (2019 or later). Postdoctoral fellows receive a salary, standard benefits, and are expected to be in residence for the duration of the fellowship.

Qualifications:

● Ph.D., and two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

● Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to interact effectively with multiple project partners.

● Effective written communication skills (technical research and report documents, examples of written products required).

● Knowledge and understanding of research procedures, data collection, data maintenance, and analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with both quantitative and qualitative research skills.

● Knowledge and understanding of process and outcomes evaluation strategies.

● Ability to develop and follow research methodology and protocol.

● Knowledge of statistical software programs including and in addition to SPSS is ideal.

● Experience in gender based violence required

● Effective communication, human relations, and listening skills.

● Ability to collaborate with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment.

Special Requirements:

● Willingness to work with diverse populations.

● Willingness to travel throughout the State of Delaware.

● Conversant in Spanish highly preferred.
