Offer Description
Postdoctoral researcher (f/m, 1 position) for a fixed period until 30.06.2025. with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 20 months from the date of employment, in case of extension of project implementation, on tasks related to experimental solid state physics. The postdoctoral researcher will work in the field of experimental research in the field of solid state physics on the project "New catalytic materials for the production of green hydrogen". The project is based on research using the technique of photoemission spectroscopy (PES) of high-entropy alloys (HEA), multi-component approximately equiatomic alloys, which show good catalytic properties. At the Institute of Physics, Zagreb, PES is an established technique to research the electronic structure of materials. In recent years, PES has also been used in the determination of the electronic structure of transition metals HEA. Research activities will take place at the CALT department of the Institute of Physics (Zagreb, Croatia) in the Group for ultrafast spectroscopy. The group cooperates with various national and international research institutions. The ideal candidate has a solid background in at least one of the following areas: experimental surface science techniques photoemission spectroscopy (any type) electronic band structure of solids ultrahigh vacuum techniques Additionally, the candidate is expected to be highly motivated to work in the laboratory on the described topic and to have an excellent knowledge of the English language. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence and independence in previous research work (recognitions, awards, scholarships, published works, presentations at conferences, etc.). Mandatory requirement: completed PhD in the field of physics. Estimated start date: December 2023 and end on June 30, 2025. or until the end of the project implementation.
