Position Summary
NYU Shanghai is looking for a short-term contracted Fellow, Human Resources for the following Summer and Fall semester (July to December 2021).
This Fellow will be a member of the Talent, Learning and Development team to support the attraction, recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, and other operational needs. The Fellow will work closely with colleagues within the HR department, with the hiring managers of various departments and units, and other internal operational teams and external vendors to meet the staffing needs across the University efficiently and effectively.
The main responsibilities include:
● Support the recruitment team on reviewing hiring needs, posting job ads to different channels, managing candidate screening, selection and evaluation process, facilitating hiring decisions, and ensure sound communication with candidates, internal hiring managers, and external vendors;
● Assist in planning and implementing various recruitment activities including online and offline job fairs, social media promotion, and other events and initiatives;
● Help track recruitment status and data to provide solid foundation for further analysis and reports;
● Handle onboarding and offboarding process for new hires by effectively liaising and communicating with relevant departments and external HR service providers to make sure all procedures are well prepared and carried out on schedule;
● Process data input for new hires and changes of staff information in the HR system when needed;
● Provide support to other tasks and HR projects when needed.
Qualifications
Required Education
● Bachelor’s Degree or above in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Organizational Development, Liberal Arts, and other related fields.
Required Experience
● Relevant experience in recruitment or HR operations in a professional office environment is required;
● Knowledge or experience in working in a multicultural or university environment is highly preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Proficiency in English and Mandarin;
● Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-cultural environment;
● A high level of professional integrity and sense of confidentiality;
● Good project management and multitasking skills;
● Attention to details with an ability to respond quickly and effectively to problems or crises;
● Proficiency in using computer and social media (i.e. WeChat, LinkedIn, etc.) and quick at learning new systems and technologies.
